Storm Damage Roof Repair in Midlothian, TX
Hail can work a roof over and leave the view from the street unchanged. Storm damage roof repair starts at Midlothian Roofing Co with our roofers on the slopes, reading your roof against what the county logged that day.
If water is getting in right now, call and start with where it is coming through.
What NOAA logged here.
Ellis County has taken 17 hail days in the last four years. They produced 80 hail reports, 72 of them an inch across or bigger, and the largest hail measured 3.75 inches in June 2023. The strongest wind in that stretch measured 85 mph.
That is real hail country and it is not the worst of it. Roofs here take about half the hail the Fort Worth side does. That is still hail most springs, just not the metro's worst corner.
2025 added two more, and one of them landed inside the city limits. Hail marks the soft metal first: gutters, vent caps and chimney flashing dent before a shingle shows anything.

Ellis County storm record, on the books.
March 8, 2025 was a wind day: 85 mph at Sonoma, 81 at Waxahachie, 75 at Ennis, inside one afternoon. May 16 put inch-wide hail inside Midlothian itself and two-inch stones on Mountain Peak and Garrett. Wind here does not always arrive in a straight line, either. In April 2022 a tornado rated EF-0 to EF-1 touched down at the Business 287 and US 67 junction, destroyed three homes, and was off the ground in under two minutes. Nobody was hurt.
Source: NOAA / NCEI Storm Events Database · Ellis County 2023–2026 · updated July 2026. Year rows count hail days at 1" or larger; the county figure above counts every hail day on record, at any size. Dated rows are the largest event of each recent year, then the largest remaining on record. Only reported, measured stones make that list, so a storm that hit your street can be missing from it.
How storm damage shows up, on a delay.
Hail rarely announces itself the day it lands. This is the order it usually goes in, and it is also how you tell a storm hit from a roof that is simply old: age wears a roof evenly, hail lands in scattered spots.
- Day one: the shingles bruise where the stones landed, and from the street nothing has changed
- First few weeks: granules loosen around each bruise and start washing down into the gutters
- First few months: bare spots open where the granules left, and the sun goes to work on what is underneath
- One season on: the fractures reach all the way through and the first stain shows up on a ceiling
- Year two: repairs start multiplying while new spots keep failing behind them
Most policies treat storm damage as a covered peril, though what yours covers is written in your own policy and nowhere else. The claim, the adjuster and the outcome are yours. What a roofer adds is a dated, photographed record of what is up there, which is what an adjuster ends up looking at. If you think the last storm got your roof, give us a quick call and say what the storm left. A roofer walks it and photographs what is there. If the damage is real, a replacement cost picks up from there.

Call or send the form, and a Midlothian roofer walks your slopes, separates what the storm did from what the years did, and hands you the photos either way, which is where an insurance claim would start. It costs nothing and it commits you to nothing.
